PATIENCE
Season 1

Matt is the lead writer on a new six-part crime procedural, Patience, which premiered on Channel 4 in the UK in January 2025. According to industry bible, Broadcast, the series attracted an average audience of 4.1 million across its six episodes making it Channel 4's most successful drama launch since January 2021. The series, adapted from French drama, Astrid et Raphaelle, stars Laura Fraser as Detective Inspector Bea Metcalf, who befriends a young autistic woman, Patience Evans, played by Ella Maisy Purvis. Patience works in the Police archives and the two women team up to startling effect. The series is set in Matt's home city of York and was filmed there and in Belgium across the first half of 2024. It is produced by Eagle Eye Drama in association with Happy Duck Films and in partnership with PBS Distribution and Beta Film.

A TASTE FOR MURDER
TV series

Matt's latest writing project for TV is A Taste For Murder, an original six-part crime procedural, which went into production in January 2025. The series tells the story of a British police officer, Joe Mottram, played by Warren Brown (Strike Back, Luther), who is seeking to rebuild his fractured relationship with his daughter, Angelica, played by Beau Gadson, (The Crown), after the death of his wife in a hit and run accident. When they go to visit her grieving parents, who run an seaside taverna on an Italian holiday island, Joe is drawn into a murder investigation that threatens the fabric of the family he's so desperate to rebuild. The series also stars BAFTA-winner, Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey), as his mother-in-law, Elena, and Cristiana Dell’Anna (Gomorrah), as an Italian  police inspector who teams up with Joe. It is being produced by Eagle Eye Drama in association with Drugiplan and has been funded by Brit Box and ITV Studios.
